Methodology
The Meridian Sector Indices sort the U.S. domestic operating-company universe into fourteen industry sectors, assigning each company to a single sector by its primary line of business, then weighting constituents by float-adjusted market capitalization within each sector. Eligibility mirrors the Meridian Size Indices: a constituent must clear a liquidity gate (an average traded-value ratio, and trading on at least 95% of sessions) and 60 trading days of seasoning, and the smallest micro-cap names are excluded. Sector assignment starts from each company's primary industry classification and is refined by analyst review where that classification does not reflect the company's principal business.
